The art of leverage

What is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling-based martial art and combat sport. Rather than relying only on strength, it teaches students to use position, leverage and timing to control a situation and create options from the ground.

01 / Position

Understand control

Learn where to place your body, how to stay balanced and how to recognize a stronger or weaker position.

02 / Technique

Use leverage

Practice movement, escapes, transitions and the mechanics behind joint locks and chokeholds under instruction.

03 / Application

Test and refine

Apply techniques with a training partner, notice what works and return to the details that make the movement more effective.

Two ways to train

Gi and No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu.

Both formats share the same foundation: thoughtful movement, positional understanding and technique. Training in each offers a different way to develop those skills.

You do not have to decide which one is “right” before your first class. Our team can help you understand the current class options and choose a starting point based on your experience and goals.

Training format 01

Gi

Training in the traditional martial arts uniform introduces grips on the jacket and pants, adding another layer of control and technical choices.

Training format 02

No-Gi

Without grips on a gi, students rely more on body positioning, movement and direct control of their training partner.
